How the check works
It is a polite crawler and a set of rules written from the legislation. There is no AI judgement in the findings and no database of your business.
What it does
It fetches your home page, reads the links, and follows up to twelve pages on the same domain. It requests robots.txt first and obeys it, including any crawl delay, and identifies itself honestly in its user agent with a contact address. It reads only pages any visitor could open. It does not submit forms, log in, or touch anything behind a password.
What a cross means
Exactly one thing: we did not find this in the pages we crawled. It might be on page fourteen, in a PDF, or in your office window. Where the duty is a website duty — and s.83(3) and Regulation 20A both are — not finding it on the website is itself the finding.
What it is not
Not legal advice, and not a defence. It is an automated text-level observation of public pages, run by one person, against legislation anyone can read. Where we are unsure we say so on the report instead of rounding it up into a certainty.
What we keep
The address you type, for as long as it takes to answer you. No account, no tracking pixels, no advertising network, no sale of anything to anyone. See Privacy.
